About

News and Noise! started in 2012 and provides interviews, reviews, and long reads about music. We cover historical, global and contemporary music, artists and performances. It is mainly about the story behind music. Because music is so much more than just entertainment. Music can bear a message, music can start a revolution, music can be a propaganda tool, music can be functional, music can be the result of geopolitical events. Unfortunately, music can also be very risky for the artist. These stories and more you can find on News and Noise!

If you want to join us, or promote your event or album that fits in our concept,

The cover picture comes from the collection of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. It is a cutout of a photo by E.J. Noordhoff, with dozens of bagpipers from Schotland celebrating the end of World War II on Dam square in Amsterdam – June 28, 1945.
